The Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas (CACTX), whose mission is to protect and provide for all children in Texas, signed on with ECPR to educate Texans about the increase in severe child abuse during the COVID-19 pandemic and the decrease in number of cases reported. Founded in 1994, CACTX is the statewide membership association representing all 71 children’s advocacy centers located throughout the state, which serve as the first stop for victimized children of sexual or physical abuse, or children who have witnessed a violent crime. In 2019, approximately 60,000 Texas children received critical services at a Texas children’s advocacy center
